Batman’s Weakness

[PREVIOUS] [RANDOM] [NEXT]

Batman's weakness is leg day

Batman’s weakness is no joke.

Leg day done right is actually debilitating. #SeriousPains #SeriousGains sitting down is painful, standing up is worse, and climbing stairs? No.

The best recovery is to lie on the couch all day and groan in a tough way. If you’re at work, then wheel yourself around in your office chair and rub your thighs with a grimace, so people know you’ve worked hard. And don’t forget to talk about it over lunch.

Rubbing it in is half the fun, anyway.

An Unspoken Bond

Unspoken bond between runners

There’s an unspoken bond between runners.

It’s a bond of understanding. A bond of mutual recognition. Two people who resisted the siren call of the Comfy Chair and Netflix. Two people wheezing their way through the streets. Both enduring the uncomfortable jiggle of excess.

While some acknowledge it with a ‘Hi’, some with a nod, there are others who make no sign at all. This is probably because they’re so close to death that any interruption will make them stop running. NEVERTHELESS. The unspoken bond remains.

Running – A New Year’s Resolution

A year and one month ago I made a resolution to take my fitness more seriously, and made this comic to reflect it. Running had always been a thing for me, but never a serious thing.

A year and one month on and I’m giving myself a pat on the back because I made running a serious thing. Starting with 5km’s, moving to 10kms, running 18km’s on the weekend, and finally a solid half marathon. It was hard, though. Damnably hard.

For 2017 I have a new goal, just as tough as last year’s. I’m going to do a push-up.

Watch this space.
